Gas To Power Generation

Many regions across the world have been reliant on the use of oil for Power generation, facing volatile prices and high green house gas emissions over the past decades. In recent times, many countries including Nigeria has adopted sustainable green energy agenda and proposing Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as alternative use for power generation, which makes a low-cost gas easily available to power plants with less pollution than oil and coal. Favorably, Nigeria has abundant natural gas reserves with the Federal Government declaring the value of proven natural gas reserves of about 206.53 trillion cubic feetto be worth $803.4tnand overin April 27, 2023.

The Consortium comprises of very experienced entities with considerable experience and expertise in the establishment and delivery of integrated clean energy power generation projects.

Our Gas to Power Generation project – The West Africa Clean Energy Hub (WACEH – pronounced ‘WACKY’) will feature a scalable Gas to Power Generation project pipeline with generating capacity of up to 3770 MW alongside an Ammonia Processing Plant with a capacity of up to 450.000 MTPA alongside an Ammonia Gas to Power ResearchInstitute,in the Badagryaxis of LagosState, Nigeria.

  • Reliability: Refurbished gas turbines will have a higher level of reliability. By conducting repairs and replacing critical components, the machine’s stability and performance during operation are ensured.
  • Extended lifespan: Through refurbishment, the operational lifespan of the gas turbine can be extended. Repairs and updates to key parts and systems can guarantee continued efficient operation of the machine in the future.
  • Performance optimization: The refurbishment process allows for performance optimization of the gas turbine. By utilizing the latest technologies and processes, the efficiency and performance of the turbine can be improved to meet evolving demands.
  • Compliance with standards: During the refurbishment process, it is ensured that the gas turbine complies with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements. This includes safety standards, environmental requirements, as well as operating and maintenance guidelines.
  • Cost savings: One of the primary advantages of purchasing a used gas turbine is the significant cost savings compared to buying a new one. Used turbines are generally more affordable and can provide a cost-effective solution for power generation or other industrial applications.
  • Shorter lead time: Acquiring a new gas turbine can involve a lengthy procurement process, including manufacturing, testing, and delivery. By opting for a used turbine, you can significantly reduce the lead time and quickly get the equipment up and running.
  • Reliable technology: Gas turbines are known for their robustness and reliability. Even when used, these turbines can continue to operate efficiently for an extended period. They often have a remaining operational life, making them a reliable option for various applications.
  • Availability of spare parts and expertise: Gas turbines are widely used worldwide, and there is a well-established market for spare parts and technical expertise. Choosing a popular model of a used gas turbine ensures that spare parts and experienced technicians are readily available, simplifying maintenance and repair activities.
  • Environmental considerations: Utilizing a used gas turbine can contribute to environmental sustainability. By repurposing existing equipment, you are reducing the demand for new manufacturing, which helps conserve resources and reduce carbon emissions associated with production processes.
