Jean-Michel Doublet, a French citizen born in 1960, has since 20016 been the CEO of Blue Oak Advisory Limited, a London based corporate finance boutique focused on natural resources, infrastructure, and renewable energy / ESG projects. Jean-Michel Doublet is an Agricultural Engineer (INA Paris Grignon) and has a PhD in Economics from UC Berkeley (California). He was an economist at the World Bank and a senior investment officer at the International Finance Corporation in Washington DC; he was Managing Director at Paribas (Paris) and BNP Paribas (New York), where he headed the bank’s Corporate Finance activities in North and South America. In 2008 he was a co-founder of Clermont Energy Partners, a London-based investment bank specialised in oil and gas. Since 2016 Blue Oak has been advising private and publicly listed clients in the US, in China, in the UK, in continental Europe, and in Africa on M&A transactions and capital raising. His recent advisory assignments include advising a major Indian group on a large downstream Northern European acquisition; advising a NOC in a major oil and gas producing country on raising capital (trade and development finance, including LNG and LPG trade finance and floating LNG development); advising an East African gas-producing E&P company on various M&A transactions; advising a UK fund on acquiring control of a Ukraine based independent E&P company.
